- Setting- Casablanca, Morocco 1940's WWI
- Introduction- Two German messengers were killed out in the desert, and Ugarte take the letters of transit, Germans want to find the murderer, and Rick wants to go back to the states
- Climax- Ugarte left the letters at Ricks bar, but an American couple show up at his bar, wanting to go back to the States as well. Rick knows the woman, a past lover. And so Rick schemes up a plan to give the couple a passage back home
- Conclusion- The couple are free and Rick is stuck in the desert

Topic 9 Concept Guide
- Women's rights WWII- Mostly factory work to support the war
- Causes and effects of the atomic bomb- Mass annihilation within seconds on the Japs, resulting in nations having nuclear power
- US foreign policy before, during, and after war- At first we wanted isolationism, but becoming involved in the war we gained friends; so now we have to give support to our allies, resulting in an open foreign policy
- Effect on Europe- Ended European Imperialism, thus becoming out pet
- Effect from Pearl Harbor- Declaration on war with the Japs, sending all Japanese Americans to camps Japanese internment- Camps for American Japanese
- Neutrality Acts- An attempt to stay out of wars by methods of not having to do anything with nations involved in conflicts
- Purpose of propaganda- To have the public on the same page with the government, so they can talk the citizens to doing what they want and what they believe
- Rationing- Americans rationing themselves to support the diminishing supplies
- Results of WWII- Nuclear arms, USA is the BOSS, and UN was created
