Far From A Metling Pot
The students in Jena, Louisiana should commited a hate crime, but what was most disgusting is that they were not given punishment for their actions. My reaction is nonchalant, racism in the United States stands strong, and there will never be a day of no prejudice. This incident and the one in Little Rock, 50 years apart, are similiar in the way that there was not punishment for hate crime. I see prejudice and racism as something callow and very shamefull.
MLK VS. MALCOM X
MLK's methodology on civil rights rein over Malcom's, because the use of passive resistance is amazing. Confusing your oppressor with love when the enemy is expecting violence, is most effective to change. As well his use of boycott, these are all non-violent demonstrations of effective change to equal rights.
Mind Over Matter
The American dream still stands true, because if you have the right mind-set and stay stern on your goals you will achive. The students in this study whom were considered superior performed better than the inferior assigned students.
